Medico-Legal Assessments & Report Writing

Wound Specialist Services have extensive experience with medico-legal assessments and report writing for legal entities engaged in litigation action.

Document Discovery

Document discovery is the foundation of our assessment and report writing process and we now offer it as a stand alone service!

1. Provide your documents and letter of instruction to us using our secure file sharing platform.

2.  We will thoroughly review the medical history of the wound and other relevant information provide.

3.  We will provide a report which addresses your instruction.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and ability to understand the information provided and it’s relevance to a case.

Assessment

Our services rely on an assessment of the patient, observing what is involved in their activities of daily living and speaking to them about the impact of their wound. We discuss medical and social history, ensuring that we thoroughly understand the effect of their wound on their day-to-day life.

We gain real insight into a person’s daily needs by assessing them in the place that matters most – their home or aged care facility.

We conduct telehealth assessments which utilise our clinical and medico-legal experience to ensure the process of assessment produces a high standard of opinions and recommendations.

We regularly assess people involved in cases related to medical negligence and public liability.

Report Writing

The report will address the questions posed in your letter of instruction and includes a comprehensive document review. Typically, a report will comment on a person’s medical history, intervention and wound treatment.

Wound Specialist Services provides high quality, unbiased medico-legal reports. All reports are peer reviewed by our experienced Nurse Practitioner. A standard report is available within 20 business days but can be completed sooner with prior notice.

A supplementary report can be requested when additional information becomes available or when further questions need to be addressed.

Expert Witness Service

The rigour of our assessments and reports becomes the foundation of our expert witness services in conclaves and court proceedings. Our Nurse Practitioner is available to provide expert opinion in court or to participate in conclaves.

To arrange a conclave or court attendance, please contact our administration team.
